Restaurants

Dubai boasts of one of the best eating places in the world. There are any numbers of restaurants to cater to the tastes of all and sundry and from all walks of life.  What is more surprising is that the menu served is authentic and in no way inferior to the place it belongs. There are eating places for people from India, Pakistan, Morocco, Brazil, Philippine etc..The eating places exhibit good ambience and are well within reachable distances from one another. These eating places are well connected. Lastly they are reasonably priced.

Al Muntaha
Al Muntaha  located in the prime place in Dubai is suspended hundreds of meters above the Arabian Gulf, at the top of the Burj Al Arab hotel. Here the service is something immaculate and the slanted glass windows give the restaurant the feel of a great ocean liner heading out to sea. Menu  is also served on plate, with starters such as lobster Caesar salad or seared scallops and mains the likes of grilled hammour (a local fish) or roasted prime beef rib with mustard crust. A speciality here is music is also served  six times a week.

La Baie

With  the expert  guidance of head chef Carl Stockenstrom, this restaurant rather boasts of mellow piano music, excellent service to the extent of being blemish less and elegant settings. The food served here is simply impressive to confirm to the best quality, and may cast a burden on the purse.    the most exotic starters is the marinated sturgeon carpaccio with caviar and yoghurt sauce, while a highlight among the mains - and rumoured to be the chef's favourite - is the grilled hammour on a bed of green lentils.

Sphinx
Sphinx has the reputation for being one of the finest  restaurants for many years in Dubai and a visit will only reinforce this name. It is well  set  Wafi Pyramid complex, with Egyptian-style decor and candlelit dining. The service is warm devoid of excesses and food is served in its own style. Starters include the excellent lobster bisque and the unusual fried goats cheese and beetroot sorbet, served with walnut and blue cheese salad. The first rate 'surf n' turf' is the highlight of the main menu.

This revolving restaurant meant to accommodate about  140 seaters  over the Hyatt Regency Hotel, on the 25th floor, offers the views of the city. It has been refurbished to a contemporary and sophisticated design in 2002. It  revolves over a two-hour period, offering panoramic views of the entire city and out towards the Arabian Gulf. The most popular dining option is the international buffet, which features dishes from all corners of the globe, including options such as Chinese stir-fries, spring rolls and local Dubai dishes. Early diners willing to give up their tables by 2100 are rewarded with special offers.

Minato
This high quality Japanese restaurant  utilizes the best  talents of real Japanese chefs. It  is mostly favoured by  the weight conscious local style brigade and is patronized by the local Japanese community. Diners can often see their food being prepared and cooked . Minato offers all the Japanese classics as well as a sushi bar and a teppanyaki table. The teppanyaki night every Saturday is immensely popular and the Monday evening buffet at Dh89 is of great value.
